VYMI Ensemble
Since 2025, I’ve performed as a pianist with the VYMI Ensemble, a chamber music project under the Vietnam Youth Music Institute. In both a piano quintet and a four-hand duo, I’ve explored the rich, collaborative nature of chamber music alongside a diverse group of dedicated young musicians.
Guided by professional mentors, we’ve studied and performed classical repertoire through major concerts and community events. These performances not only deepened my ensemble skills but also allowed us to bring chamber music into public spaces—fostering dialogue, accessibility, and a shared appreciation for the art form.

Highlights
Chamber music is often seen as intimate and introspective—but I’ve come to see it as equally interactive and imaginative. As a pianist in the VYMI Ensemble, I performed works by Ravel, Fibich, and more, not just in traditional recitals but in thoughtfully designed concerts that invited the audience to co-create meaning alongside the music. One highlight was our Mother Goose concert, where instead of offering a fixed narrative, we guided nearly 100 listeners through open-ended prompts, allowing their imaginations to shape personal stories through sound.
Under the mentorship of seasoned artists, I learned that chamber music is as much about listening and conversation as it is about performance. Each concert—whether in a café or a concert hall—became a space for reflection, curiosity, and shared exploration. Being part of the VYMI Ensemble helped me understand that classical music can thrive not just through technical mastery, but through its ability to invite connection, spark imagination, and speak to many different stories at once.
